Vision Quest Design Group was tasked with creating an ADA-compliant outdoor living environment that the family—including six children—could enjoy year-round. Owner Thomas Burkhardt is known for designing with curves, and this outdoor living space is the ultimate expression of that philosophy, from the giant domed amphitheater and circular fire pits to the path that winds from the highest level to the lowest.
Among the many features of this spectacular space are a fully functional outdoor kitchen with grill, multiple outdoor fire pits and outdoor fireplace, built-in bar top and bar seating, custom lighting and ceiling fans, and state-of-the-art audio/visual system. All of these elements combine to create a luxurious outdoor living space where the family can gather, rain or shine.
Vision Quest Design Group handled every phase of the construction of this outdoor masterpiece, from the initial design consultation to the finishing touches. Burkhardt enlisted the expertise of Aaron Gonzalez of Amplitude Technology Integration to incorporate the exceptionally high-tech and weatherproof media system.
To accomplish this one-of-kind outdoor living environment, Burkhardt combined diverse materials—cedar, metal, stacked stone—to ensure structural integrity and creativity while providing architectural and visual interest.
